Description

The VTH3ph and VTHR3ph voltage transducers convert dc or ac voltage to an isolated voltage or current loop output.  The Available VTH3ph models cover the range from 0.333V to 600Vrms, with fast response capability, the Model VTHR3ph offers true rms conversion DC-50kHz along with Voltage Analysis.  VTH3ph sensors are available in ac only or dc+ac configurations.

The instrument power input is designed to operate over a wide voltage range associated with process control and sub-station auxiliary dc supply systems.  Some typical applications are voltage monitoring in PV, wind turbines, dc drives, process control, rail transpiration.  For all products, a NIST/NPL/UKAS traceable calibration certificate of conformance are available.

Safety and good working practice when using the VTH3ph and VTHR3ph voltage transducers

  1. Ensure that all personnel connecting and configuring the VTH3ph are fully trained, conversant with electric shock hazards associated with electricity supplies
  2. Users should always work in pairs, both parties should be trained and familiar with medical procedures
  3. Ensure the circuit under test is switched off and isolated before connection
  4. Only use approved cables for connections to the VTH3ph transducer
  5. Ensure that the VTH3ph output (low terminal) is connected to a grounded point data logger/measurement system
  6. Ensure that the maximum input voltage of (1000Vpk) and input voltage to ground (1000Vpk) are not exceeded
  7. Ensure the cables feeding the VTH3ph Transducers are protected with over current protection
  8. During installation, avoid all mechanical stress to the VTH3ph terminals
  9. Do not use the VTH3ph transducer with the case open
  10. Ensure that the operating conditions are commercial - clean and dry

Voltage Transducer order codes

VTH3ph / Voltage range / output / frequency / power input
VTHR3ph / Voltage range / output / ac or dc / power input

Order code examples:

VTH3ph / 110V / 4-20 / 45-65 /24Vdc
110Vdc input, 4-20mA output, 45-65Hz with 24Vac/dc aux power input
Calibrated 0-110Vdc

VTHR3ph/ 100V / 10 / ac+dc / 24Vdc
100V input, 10V output, ac+dc coupled, with 24Vdc aux power input
Calibrated 0-100Vrms

VTHR3ph / 208V / 10 / 400 / 24Vdc
208Vrms input, 0-10V output / 400Hz / 24Vdc aux power input
Calibrated 0-208Vrms at 400Hz

VTHR3ph / 50Vrms / 4-20mA / dc-100 / 24Vdc
means 0-50Vrms input, 4-20mA rms output, frequency range dc-100Hz, 24Vdc aux power input

Unless specified, the upper cut-off frequency will be 10kHz
