Frequency converters are required when the utility ac supply i.e. 230V 50Hz power source in Europe, is different to the supply required i.e. 115V 400Hz for avionics use.  In this situation transforming just the voltage (using a transformer) may not be enough and a frequency converter may be needed to convert the frequency as well as the voltage, providing regulation and stability.  The SFC series provide excellent protection where ac loads are sensitive to variable power line regulation.

Powertek SFC frequency converters can convert between 50Hz, 60Hz and 400Hz in any combination, at virtually any commonly used global voltage. In addition, Powertek frequency converters are purposely designed for this function and are not based on modified UPS units. This means they provide better performance, are more compact and more cost effective.
